The Thomas Cook European Rail Timetable is essential equipment for anyone travelling by rail in Europe. Its sister volume the Thomas Cook Overseas Timetable covers the rest of the world, containing not just rail timetables but a huge number of bus and ferry schedules. Thomas Cook also publish two very useful rail maps - the Rail Map of Europe and the Rail Map of Great Britain and Ireland. The monthly Thomas Cook European Rail Timetable contains over 500 pages of rail and ferry timetables covering every country of Europe. Frequent publication at the beginning of each month ensures that it is as up to date as possible, and certain editions contain advance information for forward planning, as well as features on various aspects of rail travel.
A whole variety of users find the timetable invaluable. In the travel trade it's often known just as the "Cooks", and many agents have an annual subscription. It is also invaluable for those planning a trip around Europe using a rail pass such as InterRail or Eurail, and of course you can take the timetable with you to check your itinerary or plan journeys as you go along. Indeed it is sometimes referred to as the 'InterRailers Bible'. The timetable is also used by independent travellers and business travellers, and you can find it in libraries across the world.

Overseas Timetable

The unique Thomas Cook Overseas Timetable covers rail, bus and ferry travel throughout North and South America, Asia, Africa and Australasia, in fact the rest of the world.
It is published six times per year. Unlike its European counterpart, the word 'Rail' does not appear in the title, and there's a good reason for this. Although it does contain every conceivable railway timetable (even suburban services in many cases), it also contains numerous bus timetables, due to railway networks being fairly sparse in some areas of the world (Brazil for example). Think of it as a 'surface transport' timetable. In fact, it is a more comprehensive timetable for most countries than you are likely to find in those countries themselves, and that includes the USA!
